The 14th edition of the Voies Off Festival will be held from July 6 to 11, 2009. On this occasion, Voies Off is organizing a special opportunity for emerging talents: they will meet and exchange with various experts in the field of contemporary photography. We would be honored if you accepted our invitation to join our portfolio review session and be one of its experts.

Every afternoon, from 3 to 7 p.m., July 7-11, our portfolio reviews will be held in the court-yard of the Archbishop’s Palace, in the heart of Arles historical center. Each photographer will be granted a 20-min review by an expert.

Last year, 2008 Voies Off counted over 1,000 reviews over a period of 4 days.
For emerging photographers this is a rare opportunity to show their work to a knowledgeable and competent audience that will guide and advise them as well as give them useful feedback and steer them toward potential contacts.
Note: The photographers who have been selected for the 2009 Voies Off program (night showings) are granted special access and privileged scheduling for the portfolio reviews.
For the photographic and cultural institution that have attended our festival over the past decade, these portfolio reviews have proved to be an ideal opportunity to schedule their next exhibition seasons and to discover new talents. In the past, numerous exhibitions and publications have been granted as the results of Voies Off‘s portfolio reviews.

Experts wanted:
Curators, book-publishers, newspaper and magazine editors and critics, gallery dealers, photographer’s agents, web-site designers, members of photo institutions, festivals, photo agencies, photo co-op, etc. …

We consider your participation to Voies Off ‘s portfolio reviews as a professionally, culturally and personally enriching experience for all including yourself, and do whatever we can make it happen. Our functioning principles are based on establishing and moderating a free and caring community. We, Voies Off, provide a rare setting, and the organizing infrastructure for these exchanges. We grant you a total flexibility in your schedule: you are free to pick one or several afternoon(s) during the July 7-11 period according to your availability.

In order to facilitate the quality of your time and experience, we will assign a specific space to each reviewer; we will also design a general and constantly monitored schedule of the reviews. An individualized schedule will also be handed out to each participant. The list of experts will be posted on our website.
